Timing Considerations
- Requests must be submitted a minimum of three (3) weeks prior to the intended event date
- We can typically facilitate events during our office business hours, Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Requests outside of these hours may be more difficult to fulfill and may be limited to virtual.
- Due to staffing limitations, we ask that you please not request more than one event per quarter.
Expectations for workshop requests
- We prioritize requests of over 20 attendees.
- The requesting unit should provide a draft flyer to promote the event 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event.
- For in-person requests, the requesting unit is responsible for reserving a space on campus and providing a/v tech support.
- For in-person requests, the requesting unit is responsible for having someone available to support event check-in.
- Please note that you are not guaranteed a workshop by filling out this form. If we are available to fulfill your request, we will confirm the date/time with you in a follow-up email. If we are unable to do a workshop for you, we will provide you with resources that you can share with your students. We will be in communication with you within two weeks.
Introduction to Career Success resources
If you want to get familiar with Career Success resources to share with students, we encourage you to explore our Career Success Canvas Course, share the course with your students, or incorporate sections into your curriculum.
This course is designed for students who want to get introduced to our career resources at their own pace. It is not for academic credit and is fully optional. We organized modules based on the common reasons that students engage with our office. The modules provide a walkthrough of our most common resources.
Modules include:
- Career Success Introduction
- Career Exploration
- Getting Hired
- Develop Skills with Jobs & Experiential Learning
- Graduate & Professional School Prep (including law and medical school)
Handshake navigation mentor
Complete an asynchronous Canvas course designed for you to become an expert in navigating Handshake and demoing the platform with students. You will gain a mock student Handshake account upon completion of the Canvas course.
You need to have a Canvas account to access this course. If you need to request a Canvas account or are having issues accessing the course, contact the Canvas support team.
Chancellor’s Undergraduate Internship Program (CUIP)
The Chancellor’s Undergraduate Internship Program provides on-campus internships in programs and departments throughout the campus. Interns work with a mentor to develop personal and professional skills, and take a leading role in producing a project in their internship. A two-unit leadership seminar class is required. A scholarship of $5,500 is paid towards the intern’s registration fees for the academic year.
