The Employee Request (ER) System is the primary site for hiring students for work-study and non-work-study positions. Check out our guide for accessing the Employee Request System for help navigating the interface and creating employee requests.

Work-Study Program

The purpose of the Work-Study Program is to stimulate and promote part-time employment of registered students who are eligible for financial aid and are awarded a work-study allocation. The program provides a variety of on and off-campus positions. The goal is to provide job experience in areas closely related to the student's career or educational aspirations. The Federal government or other funding sources supply a portion of work-study student salaries, and the hiring unit pays the remaining balance.

Chancellor's Undergraduate Internship Program

The Chancellor's Undergraduate Internship Program provides on-campus internships in programs and departments throughout the campus. Interns work with a mentor to develop personal and professional skills, and take a leading role in producing project in their internship. A two-unit leadership seminar class is required for fall, winter and spring quarters. A scholarship of $8,200 is paid towards the intern’s registration fees for the academic year.

Bay Tree Conference Center

Conference rooms are scheduled on a first come first served basis for UCSC staff only. Student groups must be sponsored by a registered unit. Rooms are not to be used for academic instruction. It is the responsibility of each group to return meeting room furniture to its original placement if moved during the course of your conference. A fee of $23.50 per hour, minimum of one hour, will be charged to reset room furniture. Career Center reserves the right to re-assign rooms if necessary.
