Professional Career Development Program

Santa Cruz Professional Career Development Mission

The Professional Career Development Program, PCDP provides qualified students who are NOT currently eligible for federal funding. It gives students an opportunity to receive a $3,600 scholarship and gain professional skills and career development under the guidance of a mentor. 

*You do not need to have a work permit in order to participate*

PCDP Important Dates:
•  Students can begin to register from 1/15/2018 to 3/9/2018 and can apply as soon as they are approved
•  Internships posted on SlugQuest by 3/12/2018
•  Students apply to 4 positions on SlugQuest by 4/9/2017
•  Mentors review applications/interview and make offers between 4/9 - 5/9/2018 
•  Students begin internship Fall 2019
•  Intern Orientation will occur in the week of 5/21/2018 [exact date to be determined]

Recruitment for the Professional Career Development Program will begin 1/15/2018

If you received an email saying you have access to the positions, follow the steps below to apply.  


To get access to the PCD Program positions you must:

  • Log into and complete your SlugQuest personal and academic profile (Profile must be completed before applying)
  • Upload your resume and cover letter(s) in the "documents" section in SlugQuest
  • Apply for no more than FOUR internships online
  • To apply, sign into SlugQuest:
    • select Jobs & Internships tab
    • select SlugQuest Jobs button
    • click advanced search
    • click more filters
    • under position type, select Experiential Learning
    • review and select your four internships
    • select apply while in the internship position, upload resume and cover letter

How to apply

• Application: cover letter and resume (ONLY - no additional documents needed)

• You can apply for up to four internships based upon your interest and match

• Career Center and EOP staff are available to help with your application

      For new PCDP positions, please fill out an application here

Mentors can attend to the two information sessions via Zoom video/phone conference on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2018, 4:00pm and Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, 10:00am. To register for a PCDP information session, please email with your preferred date/time and a google calendar invitation will be added to your calendar.

Returning Mentors:

To repost your old job: Navigate to the SlugQuest login page. Once you're logged in, you can click on "Create Job Posting" from the right-hand shortcuts menu. This will take you to a new job form, but don't worry - you won't have to create it from scratch. Go to the "Copy Existing" field and click "Show Archived". Then select your old job from the drop down menu. Double check all the information, go to the bottom of the form, and click "Submit"!
