Professional Career Development Program

UC Santa Cruz Professional Career Development Mission

The Professional Career Development Program, PCDP provides qualified students who are NOT currently eligible for federal funding. It gives students an opportunity to receive a $3,000 scholarship and gain professional skills and career development under the guidance of a mentor. 

*You do not need to have a work permit in order to participate*

PCDP Important Dates:
•  Internships posted on SlugQuest by 4/11/2017
•  Students can begin to register by 3/27/2017 and can apply as soon as they are approved
•  Students apply to 2 positions on SlugQuest by 4/27/2017
•  Mentors review applications/interview and make offers between 5/1 - 5/11/2017 
•  Students begin internship Fall 2017
•  Intern Orientation 5/24/2017

If you received an email saying you have access to the positions, follow the steps below to apply.  

STUDENT APPLICATIONS ARE DUE ON SLUGQUEST before **Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:59 P.M.**

To get access to the PCD Program positions you must:

  • Log into and complete your SlugQuest personal and academic profile (Profile must be completed before applying)
  • Upload your resume and cover letter(s) in the "documents" section in SlugQuest
  • Apply for no more than TWO internships online
  • To apply, sign into SlugQuest:
    • select Jobs & Internships tab
    • select SlugQuest Jobs button
    • click advanced search
    • click more filters
    • under position type, select Experiential Learning
    • review and select your two internships
    • select apply while in the internship position, upload resume and cover letter
Application includes a cover letter (s) and resume, samples are located here.

How to apply

• Application: cover letter and resume (ONLY - no additional documents needed)

• You can apply for up to two internships based upon your interest and match

• Career Center and EOP staff are available to help with your application

Returning Mentors:

To repost your old job: Navigate to the SlugQuest login page. Once you're logged in, you can click on "Create Job Posting" from the right-hand shortcuts menu. This will take you to a new job form, but don't worry - you won't have to create it from scratch. Go to the "Copy Existing" field and click "Show Archived". Then select your old job from the drop down menu. Double check all the information, go to the bottom of the form, and click "Submit"!
