
Career Readiness
Career readiness is about more than landing your first job—it’s about building the skills to grow, adapt, and lead throughout your life. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has identified eight core competencies that help students thrive in the workplace and beyond.
These competencies—valued by employers across industries—reflect your ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, solve problems, and manage your career with confidence and integrity. Strengthening these areas will empower you to pursue your goals and make meaningful contributions wherever your path leads.

Career & self-development
Proactively develop oneself and one’s career through continual personal and professional learning, awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses, navigation of career opportunities, and networking to build relationships within and without one’s organization.

Clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with persons inside and outside of an organization.

Critical thinking
