CUIP Prospective Mentors

Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year are now closed.

Deadlines for the future internship proposals will be clearly posted. A limited number of positions are funded so it's important to meet the deadline.

Timeline of CUIP Process:

  • January 20: CUIP positions posted 
  • January 20 - February 20: Applications accepted
  • February 20 - March 17: Host sites conduct interviews
    • Applicant names will be confirmed for good academic and conduct standing (placements will not be confirmed until standing is complete)
  • March 20: Rankings are due for Students and Hosts (ranking forms will be emailed directly)
  • Early April: Decisions and offers made (CUIP places students in internships based on rankings. Host sites do not directly hire students)
  • May: CUIP Orientation
  • Summer/Fall 2023: Internships begin 

Cost:
Estimate $4250 (or $8250)* for 450 hour internship
Estimate $2250 (or $4250)* for 225 hour internship


* This cost is based upon half of the $8000/$4000 of the intern's current yearly registration fees paid by the program plus a $250 program participation administrative fee paid by the unit. (Some departments choose to pay 100% of student scholarships in order to participate because Chancellor's matching funds are limited)
