Career Advice Network

  • The Career Center, in collaboration with University Relations, welcomes alumni to participate in the Career Advice Network (CAN). CAN enables students/alumni to search a database of advisors consisting of UCSC alumni from various fields. CAN members help by sharing career insights and information. First Destination Survey

Alumni Career Center Access

Starting May 21, 2018, recent graduating students receive three years of Career Center access from the date of graduation, however does not include career coaching. Access includes, job and internship listings through Handshake, entry to workshops and fairs, and access to online resources.

For alumni that need career coaching, please purchase a Career Center Access Card. Career Coaching is not included in the three free years of access.

The Career Center Access Card fee is $100.00 and includes up to two hours of coaching.


Career Coaching
Purchase of an Alumni Access Card entitles you to up to two hours of career coaching (four 1/2 hour sessions). Additional time may be gained by purchasing another card for an additional $100 fee. Appointments with professional career coaches may be scheduled through the front desk 831-459-4420.

The Following are free services for Alumni

  • Job & Internship Listings through Handshake
    Job seekers may search the database 24 hours a day, upload and post resumes online and access numerous career resources. Please note that the on-campus jobs (ER system) are only available to current students.
  • Career Workshops
    Career workshops on Resume & Cover Letter Writing, Job Interviewing Techniques, Graduate School Application Process, and Selecting an Internship are offered each quarter. In addition, check the Career Center's Workshop Schedule for special focus workshops dealing with specific career and/or majors.
  • Admission to Career Fairs Sponsored by the Career Center FREE but must be preapproved by verifying your Alumni status first
    Several fairs are held each year; usually one or two each quarter. These include career and internship fairs, the Graduate School Information Fair, as well as industry-specific fairs. Alumni admission to these fairs will be permitted with student ID # and a picture ID. Please refer to the Career Center Upcoming Events web page for fair dates. If you have any questions, please contact the Career Center (831) 459-4420. Alumni of 3+ years in the past should purchase a Career Center Access Card to attend career fairs.

Sign on to Handshake, and choose Alumni Access Card under events. THEN: Please forward the confirmation email you get from handshake to cc-jobs@ucsc.edu and include as much of the needed contact information listed below. Missing information may cause delays
